Question / Help Hauppauge HD PVR 60

I purchased this capture card at PAX over the weekend (Crazy good deal) and was wondering about obs support? I contacted their support people and this is what they had to say "You would have to ask OBS if they support the HD PVR 60 or not." From what I've read it is Hauppauge that does not support OBS? They told me that the people of OBS helped develop their software? What am I missing here??

Hauppage PVRs are not standards-compliant, and do not work with OBS Classic.
OBS-MP (the new multiplatform codebase) has workarounds to allow the HDPVR to work.

Yep, there was a reason it was a crazy good deal. Use OBS-MP and it should work though.

Also note this is for multi PC setups or console capture.

Ah, yes. Good point. If you are using a 1 PC casting setup, a capture device will not offload any CPU or GPU load, and will actually increase overhead. A capture device is only useful for 2 PC (dedicated gaming, and casting PCs) setup, or for casting console gameplay.

In a 1PC setup, OBS' native Game or Window capture sources will be much more efficient.

Thank you for the replies. I have the new OBS-MP and have tried running it but the HD PVR 60 just shows up as a black screen. I'm also not using it to stream any pc content just my PS4. It's just got me all kinds of stressed lol
