Question / Help Hauppage

I know I have read on the forum before that Hauppage PVRs do not work with OBS. I was just a bit curious as to why. I am a programmer by trade and would like to try and build a Hauppage plug in for OBS. Does anyone know if this is currently being worked on or why they do not currently work?

In the standard OBS version (that had the install exe). They do not work directly. You must do a window capture or full screen monitor capture for these to work. OBS MP on the other hand does, alas it is a work in progress and has a few bugs that need worked out. I am currently testing the later and I don't have any issues. Once the transitions are put back in, I will be going to it full time. Until then that is all you can do.
 
@GillyMoMo I know it doesn't work currently. I am just curious if it has to do with encoding or somewhere to start before I start trying to make a plugin to accept the Hauppauge.
