Question / Help Harsh audio in recordings

I've looked around for an answer to this question, and every time someone talks about harsh audio it's always a problem with only their microphone.

I'm having a problem with my recordings sounding like the higher frequencies are too loud and the lower frequencies are too low. I'm not very savvy with audio terms so maybe I can't describe it properly.

You can compare these two to hear what my audio is doing.

I am using a Laptop and I don't have any special equipment like a capture card or an aftermarket sound card or anything. For now I just want to fix the problem, but it's really frustrating for me that I don't know what the problem is. I want to educate myself. If anyone can help me I would be grateful.

your best bet is to post your logfile from the help menu. Copy a link to a logfile and post the link here.

this is how we can check through your settings.

As for general audio quality, make sure your audio is set to 48K Hz in OBS and the bitrate at least 96kbps (some prefer up to 160kbps for streaming and straight up 320kbps for local recording)

I can't see what KHz he has it set to. Interesting. I will try recording that same video and uploading it though and see if it still sounds so bad, and I'll use your audio settings. But it sounds... almost like it's coming from your mic.

Yup, I have it differently. You sound like either you're grabbing your mic or your internal audio is absolutely screwed, or something.

I hope you know that for streaming headphones are basically a must.

It could be that I record without headphones, but I mute my mic in OBS. Maybe the problem is my computer. I might have to simply watch my recordings without audio. Thanks both of you for helping.
