Question / Help Half a second lag spikes.

Hello,

I am Grozav 'Gereveu' Robert and I usually am a youtuber, but recently I have started doing streams on twitch.tv.
My viewers said everything was called regarding the video quality and frames per second, but also, that my screen lags/spikes for half a second, only the game capture, the webcam and audio was working smoothly.

I have a decent setup : GTX760, i5-4570 3.2Ghz, 8GB RAM Corsair 1600 and usually over 40 mbps uploads speed for the Frankfurt server.

Is there any "key" in order to fix this issue? I can run a stream even in 60fps, my PC would be still working smoothly, but the stream spikes for half a second every ~10 seconds even if my stream is set on 30fps, 45, or 60.

I hope you can help me regarding this issue.

- Thank you.

Do you mean everything on you side is working but your viewers are having buffering issues?

What bitrate do you use?

Even doe your upload speed is high, you have to take into account that your viewers don't have the best connection and therefore can't keep up with your high bitrate.

When you are a partner you can have a high bitrate and twitch gives people the option to scale down the quality..

The thing is that they're not having buffering issues, because the stream doesn't freeze, it just "lag spikes" for half a second, but I can still be heard in that period of time.

I usually go for 3000 bitrate and 3000 upload.

Sorry i can figure out what makes your stream studder.. I still think it has something to the with how much data you are sending to your viewers because it only inflicts them..

Only thing you could do is lower your bitrate to 2000 and ask your viewers if it is solved and work from there..
