Yeah, that's my findings as well. So for all intents and purposes other than local recordings I'm just trying to wrap my head around "all" the x265 requests :)
That mantis issue has nothing to do with h265. If you really want to use h265 replace the ffmpeg version included with obs-mp with one that supports h265 and use custom ffmpeg output.
