Question / Help GPU helps with recording?

So, at this moment I have a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and a shitty GPU, and I'm saving money to buy a new graphics card and later a new CPU but I have the question; "Can I record Minecraft on an Intel E8400 with an GTX 970 without lag on hd?" I hope anyone knows the answer for this! Thanks!

The short answer is no.

If you get a GTX 970 you can use NVENC - Which is GPU encoding for Nvidia.
If you get an R9 390 you can use VCE - Which is GPU encoding for AMD.

Which still won't solve the E8400's low performance for the cpu-only portions of the process.
