Question / Help good settings for my pc?

Hey guys, Im having trouble with quality in my streams at 1080p@60fps. It lags ingame and a little bit in the stream.
If I use 720p the picture is crap, even with the highest filter. I just wanted to ask now, what are good/best settings for my specs?

Sata III 1000gb HDD
Sata III 60gb SSD 6gb/s
i5 3570k@4.5ghz (pls offer something for 3.4 as well, since a friend needs them too)
AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz@2133Mhz
6000kbit/s upload // 100000kbit/s download

Twitch's soft-enforced cap of 3500kb/s will _always_ look like crap no matter what you do if you do 1080p60 at the moment. There just isn't enough bytes do do anything good looking with those parameters.

You either need to lower FPS or resolution, there's no two ways around it.
Most "pro" streamers opt for the 720p60 route because that will give you a decent resolution and "buttery smooooooth video". If you think that looks like crap I personally think you have to high expectations on what can be done :)
Some streams might seem better quality wise but that is very very very often due to static content like Hearthstone or ... well basically not a first person game :)

Try lowering your x264 preset if your computer can handle it. As an example there can be quite the quality difference between veryfast and medium in certain (most? :D) situations. Medium is however very, very taxing on your CPU.
 
your cpu isnt really capable of 1080p60 anyway
720p60 is probably max

720p30 is something you should be running so even cpu intensive games get enough cpu power
 
Well, Im streaming to hitbox. Since I dont stream/record cpu intensive games (only osu and rarely csgo), 30fps would hurt in the eyes. I just want to let it look smooth and good as possible, even if it has to be 480p. Its not the high expectations in quality that 720p looks kinda rough for me, its because it does (circles from osu look like wool), if I watch other streamers/videos in 720p it looks much better (and smoother too). Thats why I asked here for good settings. My actual preset is at veryfast, since the cpu cant handle fast, tbh.
 
your i5 would be best to do 540p@60fps, and you could do 2000 bitrate. that, my friend, could look better than some 720p@60 streams I've seen where they try and squeeze all that into 2000bitrate.

if you felt the need to, you could also raise the bitrate to 2500 or even higher.



I have a friend that does 480p@60fps 3500 bitrate which has a qval of .1 which is nearly perfect quality. the fonts and corners on his stream are sharper than some 720p streams out there


Not to be on a rant, but ty for being flexible, you will benefit in the long run for having an open mind about your stream quality
 
well for osu you can run 720p60 with 2k bitrate that shouldnt be a problem at all ... yet with csgo your cpu will probably hit its limits so 540p60 or 720p30
 
I can run osu! at 720p@60 with 5k, if I want to and it doesnt lagg at all. Still, other streams seem more smooth (in my eyes) than mine. Thats why I asked for some settings. I tried lower resolutions, but it didnt look as good as with 720p tbh.
CS:GO runs at 720p60fps too, but not on high quality, so it looks like potatoquality :'D (only tried veryfast so far, maybe it will run at faster). Still thanks for the advices

on an 5i, 720@60 with faster will cause you to max cpu like alpine said. Raise bitrate to 3500 with very fast is about equal to 3200-3300 with faster. Meaning you can either give it more bitrate or lower the cpu preset for more quality. You will hit a wall at some point with that i5 for cpupreset which you are almost at now with veryfast
 
Well, for osu (since it isnt a heavy cpu game) I can stream with fast + 3500kbit 720p60 and highest filter ^^ Like I wrote, I need to test for csgo, before I can tell if its true (I like to test it before I say, it doesnt work ^^)
