Question / Help Good pc sound card for streaming

Hi
I am looking for a good sound card to stream my games with.

I build several computers before, but I always had the sound card integrated with the MB. I want to get a sound card separate from my integrated one, because I would like to have a better control on the audio input. I am using a Shure PG58-XLR microphone and Behringer Q802USB Mixer.

What do you use for your streams that would play well with my set up?

I don't know if I have a particular recommendation, but I do recommend against getting a Xonar card from ASUS. They have a "GX" mode that tends to interfere with audio capture quite a bit.

Is your MB integrated chip that bad? I used different soundcards over the years but probably in the last 6-8 years havent touch one except when a friend insisted on having one for his new PC.
They simply give no real benefit anymore unless you are looking for a specific connection or feature. (Digital IN or something) So I normally just recommend to look for a board that uses a common Realtek sound chip for example and keep using that.

I also would highly recommend not bothering with a dedicated sound card. They offer nothing over on board solutions, unless you're after a specific feature (ie, Astro's mixamp require Dolby Digital Live support, so I have to use a Xonar DX)

For live streaming, you will be perfectly find with your onboard sound.

Heres a video explaining why you dont need to buy a sound card https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1rXcJuEsy0

if your voice sounds robotic, then its probably due to some effect your have enabled, like echo cancellation or a noise filter. try disabling them in your sound properties.

ok well any cheap old sound card will do. they do exactly the same thing as your motherboards sound does.
