Hey guys.
Totally at a loss here. I'll try to make this as short as I can but detailed.
So I'm trying to set up a livestreaming setup with 3 cameras. Main front-on camera being a Canon 750D. 2 side angle cameras being android phone cameras.
I bought a HDMI to Usb 3.0 dongle (a dirt cheap one..see pic) and a brand new mini HDMI to Standard HDMi cable.
Got it to work just fine in Scene 1.
Had a bit of trouble getting the 2 android cameras going. Was using Irium over wifi. Looked crap and was a bit stuttery. So looked in to using them with the USB cable (in usb debugging mode). So tried DroidCam (using 2 instances via sandboxie). Got them both to work (in scenes 2 and 3), but they kept freezing after a few seconds. Very common fault with droidcam apparently. So I thought I would try one last app and gave IVCam a go. Go it working great even with 2 instances of IVcam. So I had all 3 doing exactly what I wanted. It was late by this point (1am). So I went to bed and was going to have a crack at it today.
First thing I did after turning the PC on was delete Irium and DroidCam as they didn't work well and wasn't going to use them anyway.
After that I fired OBS up and now I can't get the Canon to work with OBS at all.
After adding the Video Capture device to Scene 1 and choose the HDMI to USB dongle (USB Video), all I get for a picture is Test Pattern (also see attached pics).
I uninstalled and then re-installed OBS. Same thing. Uninstalled and re-installed the dongle. Still nothing. Adroid phones still work great through IVCam. Just can't get any picture at all with the canon.
Any thoughts on what this could be??
By removing Irium and droidcam has it somehow deleted something needed for the canon to work??
Is this test pattern a sign that the dongle is cactus (I paid like $20 for it)?? Doubt it is the HDMI lead. Its a gold plated brand new lead.
I even installed OBS on a second laptop. Same thing happened. Just test pattern from the Canon. So I'm thinking it can't be the laptop.
I only bought the cheap dongle as I have been out of work for the last 10weeks due to covid, and don't have the cash to spend hundreds on one.
Here is a URL to the logfile:
Haven't set up any audio. Was only recording video and changing scenes to show the issue.
Any advice would be truly appreciated. I'm pretty damn close to just forgetting about the entire thing and not bothering with trying to live stream at all
Cheers guys
