Question / Help Getting Recordings to Work in Vegas

caLviN1260

New Member
I made a couple recordings, and when put into Sony Vegas 12 the video files have no video, only audio. It says the video part is "Offline."

CFR is enabled, my audio is AAC and my base resolution is 1366x768

Anyone know what the problem might be, and how I can fix it?

Hm, not entirely sure why it's not opening in this case. Vegas 12 normally should work fine. I can't help but to wonder if maybe the resolution is involved in this mishap or something, though I don't quite know for sure. Regardless, I'm just not entirely sure what's going on in this particular case. It would be nice if you could do more experiments, perhaps on the resolution and FPS values to see if they affect anything.

You still haven't posted a sample .mp4 that won't load into Vegas. This may be a lot more effective at diagnosing the problem than making guesses, because your log file looks fine, so we're reduced to making guesses at this point.

Ok I'll try to mess around with it some more.

I can't post the sample MP4 because every time I try to attach the file to my post I get redirected to a page that doesn't load. Is there another way to post the sample?

There it should be public on Google Drive. ^-^

Well I don't have any problems loading it in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.

And I didn't see anything crazy in the media info, like open gop or a highly variable framerate.

You might try the Vegas support, because I don't think its an OBS problem. Or first try resetting or re-installing Vegas. You said you're running version 12, I assume of Vegas Pro, so there's really no reason for it to not support this file.

That's really odd.

Like I can add the file to vegas, it just doesn't have any video. The video is green and says its "offline," but the video's audio works perfectly.

I wonder if it has something to do with the version? I noticed you guys were one version off from each other, though technically if it works in 11 it should work in 12. I wonder what on earth is going on here.
