Hey, my name is Steven. I very much so enjoy the simplistic nature of OBS and I think it's a fantastic program. I've been trying to streaming Counter-strike: Global Offensive, but I've been having issues in-game whilst streaming. I can only imagine that it has something to do with the current settings I'm streaming at, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I do know that streaming CS:GO has been an issue for quite a lot of people and I'm quite sure that this problem certainly isn't unheard of..... Any who, when I stream, my CS:GO stutters/feels choppy, and overall just feels like I'm playing the game at half the performance. I'll type out my settings for OBS and my internet. (Note that all my settings in CS:GO are currently running on low and I've also tweaked nvidia settings for best performance.) Oh, and I'll obviously include my computer specs as well.
INTERNET SETTINGS:
34MB's Download
5.10MB's Upload
COMPUTER SPECS:
i7 4790k running at 4.0ghz, 16 GB of Kingston hyperX fury RAM (1866mhz), nvidia geforce GTX 760 (no overclocking has been done for my GPU yet) and a WD Blue 1TB HDD. My motherboard is an AsRock Z97 Extreme4.
OBS SETTINGS:
Encoding settings:
Encoder x264, both CBR and CBR padding are checked. The bitrate/buffer size are both running at 3300. For the audio, I'm using AAC, bitrate 192, format 48Khz and the channel is set to stereo.
Video settings:
Base resolution is 1920x1080, no resolution downscale. The filter is on bilinear and the FPS is set to 30. Disable Aero is unchecked.
Advanced settings:
use multithreaded optimizations is checked. Process Priority Class is set to above normal with the Scene Buffering Time at 800 milliseconds. Disable encoding wile previewing is unchecked, allow other modifiers on hotkeys is checked.
x264 CPU Preset is on superfast and the ecoding profile is set to main. Keyframe interval is on 1. Use CFR is chekced, custom settings are not. Everything else on this section is running on default settings.
So what can I do to maximize not only my performance for my stream, but also, to have my in-game still feel solid enough to play on while I'm streaming.
