Hey all,

I have been having a bitch of a time trying to figure this one out and i cannot. Hoping someone here can shed some light,
I'm not sure if it is an OBS or Windows issue.

Basically, when streaming there is echo (also been described as bullhorn or tinny) from the game, very prevalent when there is dialogue, when streaming, I can't hear it. My voice is fine and does not echo.

My setup contains:

Sounblaster Z
Avermedia live gamer HD
PS4
Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer
Audio Technica AT2020 mic
Earbuds

Connections are:
HDMI from PS4 to Cap card, HDMI from cap card to monitor
Digital out from PS4 and IN to soundblaster Z
Headphones out from soundblaster to mixer.
mic in from soundblaster to mixer.

Dashboard on twitch is open but stream is muted. There are no other tabs with my stream running.

The digital in Sounblaster Z recording device has been selected to listen to this device (out to stream only setting in OBS) and unchecked (I cannot hear game sounds) (Output to desktop and stream setting in OBS) still echo persists.

i cant think of anything else relevant at the moment. Please ask if more info is needed. Id really like this to be fixed.

first is it a slow echo or a fast one?

post your logfile from the help menu.

a YT video might help as well.

Here is the link to the youtube, it starts right away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlAh1Wiqkv4

its...a fast? echo?
Post your logfile as I said before. Its under the help menu

Second, that fast echo sounds like you have a line in plugged into a line out.

connections are good. out from ps4 digital, IN to soundblaster digital IN. it is a "recording device" in windows, so i need to check the listen to this device box in order to hear game sounds, unless i select broadcast to desktop and stream in OBS

double click on your capture card, disable the audio device there, double click the webcam and disable the audio device there as well. you already have the audio device inputted from the audio menu.

So in the end, instead of having audio inputted three places, you have it inputted one.

oh you meant in OBS...ok, did that. Same problem.
In OBS, double click on the Video Capture Device Source that you made for your capture card, there is a place to add an audio device, set it do disable, same thing for the webcam. if you have the same problem, post a log file of your next test.

Still need another logfile from ya. I have a few more thoughts, I just want you to check again, in both places what I said above the post another log.

ok! so...i turned the mic volume all the way down on the OBS main screen. Echo went away completely. So, somehow, my mic is picking up sound. I have no external speakers, and mic does not have "listen to this device"

disconnected the digital audio as requested...with the current settings as they are, i had no game sound, stream had no sound, mic icon in obs had slight movement on it tho, like it was picking up the sounds. they were not broadcast to stream tho.

With that setup. now turn the mic up to normal volumes.

mic is up to normal settings. audio is disabled on capture card and webcam. stream is running right now. i have no game sounds, i can only hear my mic, me talking...typing this message etc.

on the capture card i changed it to "use device audio" and "send to desktop" ...i have game sound. The stream has sound. but that "echo" or duplicate sound persists.
