Question / Help Game Source Audio Becomes Delayed

I have been using OBS with the same settings for sometime now with no issues. But since this update it seems like my game source on any game audio has become VERY desynced from the game video. Not sure if Twitch servers can cause issues like this but it only happens with streaming and not recording. My voice stays synced but not the game audio to the game video. I have no delay settings on and even resorted back to the OBS 59 build.

Highlight of desync - http://www.twitch.tv/vaughnwhiskey/c/3678276

Nothing has changed with my computer either besides a new mouse lol.

I attached my log that had the game source audio desync.

You don't appear to be using the latest version of OBS. The log files show 0.592b and not 0.60b. Try with the latest version?

Does reverting to the last version fix the problem?

Both versions does it now.

I downgraded back to 59 after I updated to 60.

Thought if i downgraded it would of solved the issue.. not the case.

I also added a link to the highlight. it is like almost a second or more delay.

Edit: I am now back to 60.

If reverting doesn't fix it, then the patch didn't cause the issue. Likely you were getting lucky for one reason or another, and something changed on your system.

How are you capturing the input? As a video capture device? Doesn't appear to be in the logfile; if so, do you have buffering enabled and set to zero? That tends to fix a lot of desync issues. If you're using a window capture, then indeed it can fall out of sync.

Other issue, your i3 appears to be running right on the bleeding edge of what it can handle, with those duplicated and skipped frame counts. You may consider down-scaling further, or moving to a faster preset to see if it may help with the desync... if the system is over-stressed, that could potentially cause it. I'm honestly surprised that an i3 is able to encode 720@30 in real-time at all, given their... er... 'budget conscious' nature.

my i3 does well at streaming. Have been streaming for over a year with it and no issues with OBS. then suddenly this issues. I am using game capture just like all the other times and doesn't happen when i use my elgato. Game capture does not have a "buffering".

http://www.twitch.tv/vaughnwhiskey/c/3599846 here is myself streaming perfectly fine with the same settings as tonight. It just started happening since going to build 60.

As for my CPU load, I use a reading program and yes, the CPU does high above normal numbers but it doesn't hit anything higher then 69-76 when streaming.

I just did a test on another account to see if it some how was the reason with my obs profile, attached is the log

i don't mean to be snarky. Just kind of hard to believe that i went from perfect settings for a year to now this issue lol

Odd, I could have sworn in the original post it listed that you were using an Elgato, which is what the troubleshooting was aimed at.

If you reverted to the previous version and the problem was still happening, it wasn't the OBS update that did it.

And everything works fine until it breaks.

gonna throw a curve ball at you 2. I forgot that I updated my sound drivers today and went into the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I ended up muting "Line In" and the problem is now gone.

Does this seem like something that could be the issues?

here is my back up account where I test settings on. http://www.twitch.tv/thewhiskeyden/b/501350187 you can see everything is now synced. around 33 seconds

So strange indeed.
