Question / Help Game sound very loud over microphone?!

Hi,

I want to make a game Video, but my problem is that the sound of the game is very loud, so my voice isn't good to hear in that video. I tried to change different settings but nothing worked.

Now, I suddenly found out in the OBS Capture window, if I don't speak there is still microphone sound shown during recording. At that sound is louder than the other from the game recorded. So anyhow the game music is recorded over microphone. I'm very confused....

Why is that and what do I have to do to change this?!

on the main OBS screen you can dynamically adjust your mic and game volume by just moving the red audio bars. turn down the game audio but leave the mic volume alone. you might also have to adjust the windows recording devices by right clicking on the speaker by the clock.

I already tried that, but that changes nothing at all. The sound who is getting recorded is anyhow recorded over mircophone.

Even if I set the sound in OBS screen down to 0 there is still music recorded and microphone ruler is at maximum!

do you use VAC? try to adjust your music source down in the actual program.

Yes, I use VAC

I already tried that. I also tried this with the media player. It's the same. Until I set the output down to 0 there is music recorded pretty loud!

I even took out my headset off the PC but that changed nothing, so it has to be any problem inside with any kind of settings... but thats not my world and I even dont have any kind idea what the problem could be and in which kind of setting I have to look for the solution.

I'm not 100% on this but i would bet it is a VAC being misconfigured. Take it out of play and see if the problem persists. Hope this helps

I'm sorry to say, but that hadn't help either.

I accidently found out that if all music is off and I tab my screen there is a noise recorded, too. Dunno how und why but it happends!

But when I tried to make that video I had my headseat on, so speakers were off.

I have to say I'm working with 2 screens simultanously....could this cause any kind of trouble?

I'm getting more and more confused....

When confused, test one variable at a time until you get it working, then add in another variable. this is why I say remove VAC from the configuration for now.

EDIT: you still have not posted a log, but I'm unsure if that will help until you get some troubleshooting done then maybe find someone that knows VAC and how you need to have it configured.

Yeah I tried almost anything step by step but I finally I found the problem. There is anything wrong with my headset so there is sound recorded over microphone even I use the speakers of my PC.

For right now I set all recording sounds in OBS Screen down to 10% and this works ok.

I'll simply buy a new headset ;-)

I'm sorry for making this trouble for such a "simple" reason, but I never have heard from such a problem like I had until now.

Thx for help anyway
