I used to record gameplay on my computer just fine. 60 fps, 1080p, pretty much everything was fine. Now when I go to record Minecraft I see 210 fps in game but as soon as I hit the record button it immediately drops to 17 fps and everything goes downhill from there. I've used many different settings and recording software as well. (Mirillis Action, Fraps, OBS Studio/Clasic, Dxtory) Nothing seems to make a difference. I've even tried lowering the quality to 720p and 30 fps but there is no difference. I never have anything running except Minecraft and my recording software. Please help!

Those Settings especially with an i5 will never be working, because of the faster Preset.

Here is an Guide for OBS Studio Local Recordings
https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...lity-recording-and-multiple-audio-tracks.221/

In short Downscale by 1.5 (1280x720) use 30 or 60 fps
Custom Buffer Size of 0
Preset Ultrafast

Might also be possible with 1080p

Still not seeing any better results, sorry. The framerate now fluctuates between 1 and 17fps and changes rapidly...

Use a clean Scene with Window Capture for Minecraft.

Post a new Log after the changes, and its not really a Pain OBS includes an Update Feature by just pressing Update Log you will get an github Link.
