ok, so I'm totally new to this, I just downloaded the program to start streaming 2 days ago. I got everything set up and working properly except for the sound when i try to preview and use game capture the sound is not working. my mic, which is my webcam mic for now, shows up just fine, but i can't hear it through the speakers, but i don't know if I'm supposed to or not lol. Everything is set to default, and i tried using the other sound devices that come up as well, which are my speakers and something else but neither one work. I also tried it with my headphones plugged in but that didn't make a difference either. I have no errors in my log files either. I tested a monitor capture with youtube and it works just fine so i don't know what the problem is with the game capture sound. if it matters i am trying to stream diablo 3 and I am running windows 10. So, I am wondering if I can just use monitor or window capture instead if I can't get the game capture to work? or if anyone knows how to fix this problem? thanks.

I don't know if this is in issue with only OBS-MP, so I'll suggest this just in case.
You mean the sound isn't working in a recording? If so, try using VLC media player, as it's magical.
(I'm not using game capture in this recording, but if the sound isn't working only in local recordings being played back locally, that might not be the issue.)

If that doesn't fix the issue, then could you please post a log? It might help someone figure out exactly what the issue is.

I mean that the game sound isn't working at all...i haven't tried recording, but i'm guessing if it's not working in the preview it's not going to work in the recording either. I don't want to record anyway, i just want to stream. and i don't have any issues per the log, but i guess i can post it anyways.

Well looking at the log, your webcam says this:
Code:
12:50:47: device: Webcam C110,
12:50:47: device id \\?\usb#vid_046d&pid_0829&mi_00#6&32c3533a&0&0000#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global,
12:50:47: chosen type: MJPG, usingFourCC: false, res: 1024x768 - 1024x768, frameIntervals: 333333-666666
12:50:47: use buffering: false - 0, fourCC: 'MJPG'
12:50:47: audio device: Disable,
12:50:47: audio device id Disabled,
12:50:47: audio time offset 0,
Which is either very misleading, or your webcam's sound is disabled. Try checking your webcam properties?
But, to be clear, none of the sound is working, not even the in-game sound, correct?

yes, the mic sound shows that it's working, but i can't hear it and the game sound doesn't even register on the bar on obs preview. but, when i tried youtube on monitor mode, both looked like they were working. but i couldn't actually hear it through the preview. for properties do you mean through obs or my webcam settings?

ok, i think i fixed it! i went into the webcam properties and enabled it on audio output device and put it on output to desktop. i can now hear the mic and game sound. but should i put it on stream only so i don't hear myself? i plan on using headphones so there isn't an echo

Definitely; speaking from experience, hearing yourself speak as you speak can have some really strange effects.
I end up sounding drunk because I force myself to continue even though I want to stop to let the other person (who is really myself) speak. It's amusing, but not for anyone listening.
