Question / Help game capture select application problem

I was streaming fine literally an hour ago then stopped streaming to eat

I come back and the Scene I set up to capture the game (Baldurs Gate 2:Enhanced) isn't properly capturing the game. It's just a black screen.

When I try to set up a new scene, go to game capture then select application it no longer detects Baldurs Gate. I click refresh and it still doesn't detect it. The only application it detects is google chrome.

Am I missing something here? I feel like it's something so simple but I can't figure it out

figured out a solution but still don't really understand the problem

When I launched the game with Xfire OBS wouldn't detect it. When I launched it with the Beamdog launcher it detected it perfectly fine
 
Xfire has an overlay of some sort, right? It could interfere with the hooking of the game.
