Question / Help Game Capture -- Black Screen

Hey, Guys!

I've been trying to figure out this software in order to begin streaming to twitch. Sadly, I keep coming across a black screen, no matter which game I decide to try and stream. I have recently updated my video drives, but, alas, nothing still. Any advise would be fantastic.

Did you create a game capture then, while the game is open, add that game into the properties of the game capture?

Yes. I have found that's the only way to get the file path of the game I want captured. However, I don't seem to get the black screen anymore. Now, I am having trouble with it crashing WOW for me.

Wow is crashing. Sometimes it works if I load all the way from the character selection window and get into game, but when I click on the icon to open wow, it just shuts down.

does wow crash by it self? post your logfile from the help menu, but you've probably discovered another issue.

Well, I guess you wouldn't suggest it without thinking it could.

However, it did not work.
so apparently LoL needs two separate windows to capture properly. an old Google search says to do this:

-- Get OBS (obviously).
-- Get this plugin.
-- Set up 2 scenes:
  • Game (or Window) capture of its main window.
  • Game Capture of its game window (the actual match)
That way you can have the plugin switch automatically between the 2 scenes.

I would do this but remove your old game captures and readd them both sources with global sources

LoL isn't crashing because of OBS though. It's WOW that's crashing. I have the other games figured out.
you probably need to take this to their support forums or fix the hardware that is causing WoW to crash. i.e. driver, hardware heat, RAM, etc.

Well, dping, thank you so much for your time and consideration that you took into my thread. I really appreciate how responsive and available you were. I just made a post in their support forum. Thanks again.
