Question / Help Game Audio Delay

I recently just purchased an Elgato HD60. I hooked it up to my PC and I am planning on streaming some games on Steam tomorrow. I noticed during a test run today that the actual game audio is delayed. Say I go to punch a bad guy, the viewer hears the punch about 1-2 seconds before they see it. I've looked through OBS and Elgato settings but couldn't find anything. I don't even know if it's the elgato or OBS that is causing the delay. I have the most recent versions of the elgato software and OBS, as well as everything else. I apologize for not posting a log, but my friend is using the computer i stream on for the rest of the night. If you need it I can try to get the log later on.

Hi TheGenetikz,

On my test recordings through OBS, I don't have this issue, but I did notice this delay on my Twitch recording. This may also be happening over time.

I did a Google search and also found this:
https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...esktop-audio-with-elgato-game-capture-hd.106/

I have a Game Capture HD, not the HD60, so results may vary...

I have that set to 0, but its not my mic/voice that is delayed. It's the actual game sound. Say I shoot a gun in a game, the viewers will hear the gunshot before they actually see my character shoot the gun

i'm having the same issue even with the older elgato. I also use the skype sync trick where the scene buffer is 2000 and the global audio sync offset is 1475 with elgato syncing audio at -1475 to compensate... my voice matches my cam and my skype partner's audio is in sync with mine, but the game audio is just way off from the gameplay.

In OBS, when selecting the Elgato from "Sources" and right clicking and selecting "Properties", is the audio "Output audio to stream only" or "Output Audio to Desktop"?

I was looking at older Twitch recordings of my livestream...

When I had the audio "...to stream only", I had no issues.

However, I am using an audio "ducking" tool that reduces the game audio when I speak, but for that I must "Output Audio to Desktop". My recordings with this method show a gradual increase in lag over the length of the livestream (is synced up at first, but even 10 minutes later the audio drifts off and gets more delayed compared to the visual).

I was doing more tests and my "gradual desync over time" occurs no matter which "Output to.." I choose, sorry.

I noticed I wasn't having these issues with XSplit, however I have other issues with XSplit that I don't need to go into here.

Wish I could be of more help :/
