Question / Help Fraps and OBS

I have a simple question, like when i use Fraps at 720p i can record almost all games 30+fps and really nice quality, but with OBS i cant stream 720p. I have an E7200 2.53Ghz @ 3Ghz CPU, Even with just recording with obs not streaming i have less fps on games and lags. Just wondering

Posting a log would go a long way, but I have a feeling this CPU is way too weak to handle streaming and gaming, let alone at the same time.

They aren't the same programs and don't function the same way. Fraps does very minimal compression on the video it outputs, OBS compresses to h264. Recording and streaming are the same amount of work, the only difference is where the data is being sent to (your hard drive or to a server on the internet).

We'll have access to less demanding codecs in time. If you have a recent nvidia or recent intel processor you could always record with nvenc or quicksync. There's also the AMD VCE encoding branch that's being worked on
