Question / Help frame rate issue solved when I alt-tab out and back into game, what am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I hope someone can help me out.

What happens is the following: I start streaming smoothly. At some point the screen rate in OBS drops down to 1 frame per 1-3 seconds, obviously the stream follows. When I alt-tab out and back into the game the stream continues as normal. At some point the slow frame rate kicks in again.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a hardware issue?

Have you verified that your system temperatures are acceptable? Gradual performance degradation is often a sign of heat issues; alt-tabbing often pauses the rendering in a game, allowing things to cool off a bit.

I would actually agree with you there, be it that alt-tab out and alt-tab in takes aroud 4 seconds, would the temperature drop far enough in that short period of time? I will check this though.

If one does not check, one does not know.
