Question / Help Frame freeze at higher quality

Hi, I have a problem when i try to record Counter-Strike Global Offensive on my computer at 1920x1080 using OBS. Whenever i try to record, it'll record the audio, but it only shows one frame when i go back and watch the video. If i record at 1280x720 it'll work but I'm trying to record at higher quality. Maybe my specs aren't good enough but i know a friend who has a worse computer that can stream just fine on his computer at 1920x1080. Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Hardrive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

If i could get a response with a tip on how to fix this, i would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

If you're running without a frame rate limit in the game that can also cause what you describe, since doing so will typically allow the game max out either your CPU or GPU, and tank OBS performance as a result. Enable vsync or use the fps_max cvar to limit your frame rate in-game to something close to your monitor's refresh rate.
