Question / Help FPS drop(?) streaming league

For some reason when I stream league of legends,(in borderless or windowed mode) I get this weird fps lag. The ingame frame counter is still at ~50-60 but it's definitely noticeable for me playing, and on the stream. This makes it much harder to play the game while streaming.
I would much rather not have to stream fullscreen mode because it allows me to tab out to communicate with chat/change music/pull up game info, etc... without the screen going completely black, because I feel like that's really annoying for viewers.
Any help is appreciated very much. I'm very new to streaming, sorry if it's something simple or something like that.

Instead of using the monitor capture method try to use window capture for the PVP.net client and game capture for the actual game client. Monitor capture is a pretty slow capture method on windows 7 and can have a negative performance impact as described by you.

The best way is probably to create 2 scenes, one with the PVP.net client and one with the game client. You can use the Simple Scene Switcher to change between the two scenes automatically. So your viewers will always see what is important at that time

If you really need to use the monitor capture you should check the "Disable Aero" option in Settings -> Video. That should speed up monitor capture by a decent amount

On a side note: 1920x1080 will probably not look very good with just a bitrate of 1000. You should either increase the bit rate (if your upload can handle it) or downscale your resolution to something between 1280x720 and 960x540

Thank you very much for the info! I really would like to use monitor capture because I feel like it provides a better viewing experience and is more convenient in general. Going to try disabling Aero and seeing how it functions. As with the side note, what would be a good bit rate to do? I have the internet capabilites to stream at 1920x1080 i believe ~50 download ~11 upload. What would be a good bitrate to use?

As a non-twitch-partner you should probably aim for something between 2000 and 3500. Everything above 3500 usually doesn't work that well with twitch. Try out different values and ask your viewers if they have any issues watching the stream. If they complain about your stream buffering a lot you might need to reduce your bit rate.

Also be sure to run a few test runs before going for longer streaming sessions. Whenever you increase your bit rate you usually want to see if your ping in the game is affected too much by it.
