Question / Help FPS drop in game but recording comes out smooth

Fairly new to OBS, sorry for any minor mistakes I make and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am currently having lag in game while doing a local recording with game capture. However, the recorded gameplay is extremely smooth as it should be. Any idea how I can make my gameplay smooth?
