Question / Help Fluent scene switch and question about recordings

I was looking for program to broadcast and i found two - ManyCam and Obs. Obs have awesome features which i have to study deeply (green background as an example) but one thing i didnt found for sure - fluent switching between scenes. In manycam you can choose the way of jumping between scenes (fading, transparency and so on). Is there any way to achieve it in OBS? Some plugin maybe?

Second thing i want to ask is recordings. When i want to stream and record at the same time does bitrate which i set in stream options have any influence on quality of those records?
In other words:
I have logitech c525 with 720p. If i want to stream with bitrate 900 (for 480p) what quality of recording i will get? Is there any way to stream in 480p and record in 720p?

Im quite a newbie in audio/video things so sorry if my questions are too obvious.

Currently there's no way to add transitions to OBS. The default transition is a quick fade and should be pretty smooth. If you're switching between scenes with webcams, I recommend adding them as global sources so that they stay initialized between scene switches, and that should make transitions smoother.

The rewrite of OBS will have support for transitions.

With regard to recordings, it will record at the same bit rate and quality settings that you stream with. They are exactly the same video file. The OBS rewrite will also have the ability to record at a different bit rate than what you're streaming at.

Yeah! Your advice about global sources helped a lot! This is exactly what i can live with!

Hmm shame that ther is no chance to improve recordings quality now. I tried to use obs with manycam's virtual source and record with manycam and leave obs for streaming only. But as i expected there is severe framedrop when i enabled recording. Besides i would need to purchase manycam pro version to get higher resolutions.

So i keep fingers crossed for rewrite. So far you made an awesome job. I hope you start to make serious money without a need to make program commercial.

Ive just remembered third question i wanted to ask but forgot previously. I would want to show some constantly updated text on the screen. I know that i can use some log file on my computer. But is there any way to read such file from remote server?
