Question / Help Flashing animations not recording properly

I'm having an issue recording a game (Shovel Knight specifically). When my character gets hit, he flashes rapidly. My OBS settings don't seem to cater to the quick flashing of the image and doesn't record it at all. When I watch the recording, the character is supposed to be flashing but he completely disappears. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the settings of the quality of my recording. I'm just not sure what it is. If need be I'll provide my settings and screen caps.

We had someone with a similar problem recently. I think he limited the game fps to 60 or increased his OBS fps to 30, not totally sure unfortunately. But its probably the same actual cause, the blinking rate is so high that the frames that OBS captures do not show it.
