Question / Help First Time Streamer

Hello,

I have a slight issue with my streaming being slightly intermittent.. I am unsure as to whether this is an issue with the machine or the connection so I would like a second thought, Who better to ask than the pros :D

RIG
CPU: i7 2600k stock 3.4 {HT enabled}
MEM: 16GB
GFX: Nvidia GTX780
Connection: ~80DL ~30UL

I used the following guide which got me started and seems to work well but I have this issue with the intermittent stuttering and so on.

http://www.maximumpc.com/how_stream_you ... ch_tv_2013

Also I have another issue that when I start the application OBS the games frames drop to the stream rate, sorry if this is a silly question but is there any way I can keep the game running above 100 FPS whilst streaming at 30 to 60 FPS?

All the best

First, update your copy of OBS. The latest version is v0.583b.

Next, stop streaming at 1080p60. If you want the smoothness of 60 FPS, stream at a lower resolution like 720p. If you want the clarity of 1080p, stream at 30 FPS.

OK to confirm I should set the stream to run at 1280x720@30 and this should remove the stuttering issues and the issues with the reduced FPS in game?

OK since making the changes you suggested I am now getting dropped frames and still getting the reduced FPS while playing.

Dropped frames are bandwidth related, I suspect it's because you're using the London ingest server which has been overloaded lately. Try different ingest servers.
