First, I was trying to record a game and it would immediately freeze the screen and the recording would end in a few seconds even if it said it was still recording (audio worked fine). After downscaling the resolution a bit I could record for about 3 seconds. I tried changing the quality to ultrafast but that repeatedly crashed the game, and I think superfast is what caused it to throw this black screen. Even changing back to veryfast and reinstalling, it's just stuck with a black screen now.
I put in the settings that the computer/network checker told me to, which was:
Set base resolution to 480p (854 x 480) or a similar low resolution
Set FPS to 25
Except I just downgraded to approximately the 480p settings, because setting the base resolution to that zoomed in the screen too much. But lowering downgrade resolution even more wasn't helping either.
If anyone could help it would be appreciated, because this has been the biggest headache ever. I don't care if my videos look shoddy, anything is better than this.
