Question / Help Facecam sound distortions

Hi there, I've been streaming for a while but want to make it a bit more personal so I decided to put my webcam to use and put in a facecam, the sound gets distorted, maybe a little like crackles or something, to me it sounds like I have a busted speaker almost, but I know I don't because they work fine :P

I don't know if there are some settings you have to change, I've deactivated the microphone on my webcam, could that be it ? Feels like that should be off though.

A video so you know what I'm talking about, the sound is very off, but as I turn off the cam and restart the stream for a sec the sound turn back and is good again, so it is definitely the webcam.

Hm, interesting, thanks for the info (also sorry if it takes a while for a response, I can't spend as much time on the forums as I'd like right now), have you tried capturing via directshow rather than capturing with the audio section? Could also be the webcam but I'm not sure, I couldn't say for sure one way or the other yet

Also, strange sound problems can often be a problem when improper overclocking happens. Make sure you are overclocking correctly or not overclocking if so just to be sure

No problem, I thought it was strange as well, haven't found any other post anywhere about this problem.
I don't know what Directshow is though but I'll look into it.
There's no problem with the cam otherwise, I've used it with Skype and no problem there, and with Xsplit the sound is just fine, so I have no idea what the problem is.
Also I don't have my computer overclocked.
 
Hello i was experiencing a similar problem with my set up were i would get a very strange sound distortion when ever i added my face cam but i seem to have fixed it when i disabled "use multithreading optimization" in settings under advanced. go ahead and give that a try it might fix your problem to.
