Excluding laptop microphone from recordings

Trusting I am not repeating an earlier query, but couldn't find anything related.
While recording from windows screen (its a film), I discover that OBS is recording both the sound from the screen transmission, and the laptop microphone. I can find no way to switch the mike off. I have played with the settings in 'Advanced Audio Properties', but without success. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks
(Win7)

Thanks for your prompt reply. Your suggestion seems to be logical, but it made no difference.
If I mute the mike as per your graphic, I lose recorded sound too. Playing about with the Advanced Audio makes no difference.

There is something suble going on here, exposing my inexperieince with OBS. Any more thoughts most welcome

how are you capturing the film?

honestly i am surprised that muting the mic muted your other source as well.

Hmmmm, I suspect OBS v27 (which I am using) may not be compatible with Windows 7. Anyone able to confirm this? v28 is only for W10, or 11

Yes, I tried disabling the mic in the Windows sound area, but no difference. Will revisit again tomorrrow....

You need to make sure your mic isn't going to Desktop Audio (which it usually would by default) and that you are capturing Desktop Audio
These article may help - OBS Audio related articles
As Win7 is no longer patched/supported, unless you are on a very expensive extended support contract, most of us upgraded for free to WIn10 (which works fine for me, even on 10-12 yr old PCs)
