Sooo I know there are a lot of threads with this topic but every time I look up a new guide I get similar or different setups.
I have already followed two guides perfectly yet I get the same result. I originally tried this guide using VAC
https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/exclude-audio-sources-off-your-stream-or-recording.8/
but my end result always involved mixing the game audio with skype and whenever I streamed I always heard both.
This morning I played around with another guide which I seemed hopeful about, I notice it was dated but I saw some similar questions and responses in the comments and was wondering if anyone knew what was going on.

What happens is I can extract the audio, the first wav file I hear both game audio and skype audio, second I hear my mic, third I hear only skype.
I use Dxtory to record/stream to OBS, my audio settings have 1 - headset audio 2 - headset mic 3 - Line 1 VAC (I noticed there were two Line 1's and Line 2's I assume the second one is the repeater. I tried both with the same result.)
1. So basically I have my stereo mix listen to my headset, my default audio comes through my speakers (I leave my volume for my speakers so low I cant hear it)
2. I adjusted my realtek settings as suggested in the video, when that didn't work I set it back to the default (to mute the rear output device when a front headphone plugged in) and same end result.
3. Then I open audio repeater and have it wave in line 1, wake out line 2.
4. Open skype/ventrilo and have it set my speakers as line 1.
What am I doing wrong? Has something changed? I'm using windows 8 idk if that should matter.
Please help D:
