Question / Help Encoding taking too long while casting

I apologize in advance, I am new to this whole thing- I've never tried doing local recordings while casting at the same time. I feel like my computer should be able to handle it, solely on the fact that I capture everything externally via an Elgato Game Capture HD. Are there any settings that I should potentially change to make this work? Thanks in advance.

I went ahead and attached my most recent .log as well as my settings.

I am capturing from a Macbook Pro bootcamped to run Windows 8.1

It doesn't make sense if it works perfectly fine on other broadcasting software with the same/similar configurations.
All software is different. Dont count on them acting the same. If OBS is saying the encoding is taking too long, you need to select a faster X264 preset(Going from fast to faster for instance).

Are you noticing any actual performance issues with the stream? That warning can be a bit sensitive sometimes. It's generally just an indicator that you should consider taking a closer look at your settings, but your log files look pretty much fine.

edit: actually is this a single PC setup or are you capturing console games or something? Using a capture card to capture PC games in a single PC setup is actually worse performance than simply using Game Capture in OBS.

The actual stream has no issues, only the locally recorded file. Did you see anything in my settings at all that you would recommend changing?

I am capturing console games via an Elgato usually, but actually, that log file is from Game Capturing my Vita/3DS software. (which, is strictly video-out/not causing strain on my hardware)

That...doesn't make any sense. Locally recording is the exact same thing as streaming except for sending stuff to the internet vs saving to your hard drive. Maybe it's just a playback issue? What media player are you watching things in?

Sorry it took a bit to respond to this, I wanted to be sure I was able to test it on a few computers on a few media players.

It definitely is the recording itself, because it stutters on VLC, MediaPlayerClassic, and Windows Media Player on multiple computers

The stream and the output file are exactly identical. There is literally no difference between the two.

Can you post/upload an example of a stream that plays back fine, but the corresponding video file that does not play back fine?

The log you posted looks fine to me for the most part. Nothing immediately jumps out as out of the ordinary.

Looks like I was wrong, and it actually was skipping a frame on the actual cast as well. Any recommendations on fixing this?

I found out the problem was on my end. I was trying to save to an external source (an SD card) and I guess it just wasn't writing fast enough. I'm an idiot. Sorry!
