So I stream at about 1050 bitrate currently. Less than stellar, but it's all I can do while preserving my connection in-game. I can however record at 1080p for personal footage, things such as youtube, etc. Is there a way to do both simultaneously? While streaming on OBS, I can't record with Elgato's software, and I don't want to record the stream because it's low quality.

Any suggestions?

There is no easy way to do this that I know of using only OBS. If you're streaming PC content you could run a program like Dxtory and have it record at high quality while OBS streams in lower quality, but that wouldn't work for console content.

You can use the -multi switch on the command line (shortcut properties > Target) to allow OBS to open multiple instances of itself at the same time. Then have one instance of OBS for streaming at a low bitrate, the other saving to disk at a high bitrate. I do this, actually, myself, every time I stream. Downside of course is that this is very CPU intensive, since you're running OBS twice. Upside is that the local copy can be safely run at Superfast at a high bitrate to compensate for the crappy quality preset, and it works rather well.

Well, so much for that. I use a capture card, but not an Elgato one, so I guess my advice is faulty.
