Question / Help Elgato not showing up in OBS

Hi,
I just got my Elgato Game Capture HD and wanted to use Open Broadcaster Software to have a webcam shown live instead of me having to edit in the webcam with Sony Vegas which takes a long time to do. I went and downloaded OBS and got the webcam ready but when I tried to get the Elgato on it too, it wouldn't show up in the devices.

I have a 64bit Lenovo Desktop PC with windows 8.1 and I am using the 32bit version of OBS. I tried both the 64bit and the 32bit versions but none of them come up with the Elgato. I have closed the Game Capture HD program but I still can't get it to work. Have I not done something right or should I reinstall OBS?

Reinstalling OBS doesn't do anything. Try downloading drivers for the elgato. Use only the 32bit version of OBS.

You were asked to install/reinstall the drivers and software for your Elgato. You posted that you weren't able to find them. That's where. Get the download, reinstall the drivers, see if that helps.

OK thanks. I will try that now and see if it finally fixes it.

Thank you so much. It has been five days since I have gotten an Elgato Game Capture HD and now I can finally get facecam on my videos too. I already had the Game Capture HD software but I didn't realise that I had an outdated version. The link you sent me installed the latest version and now it is working fine.
Sorry that I thought you gave me the wrong link. It was me who actually didn't know what I was doing. :D
