Hello. I just bought the Elgato HD60 yesterday and was trying to set it up in OBS. However I am having issues with delay. I have searched the forums here, youtube, google, and Elgato's official website for answers. It seems that most people are having issues with just audio not being able to sync with the video, and that doesn't help me so I wanted to post here.
When capturing from the device, it my video that is out of sync, and as a result it gives the illusion that the audio is the problem. When watching obs in preview stream mode, the video that is picked up by OBS is delayed from actual output, but the audio syncs up fine when the video is displayed. As a result, I end up hearing two sounds, the sound from my console, then the sound that is picked up by the capture device.
When testing out the stream, I hear both sounds as well. The original output, then the delayed audio. When the video is played on the stream, it syncs with the second audio that is played. I tried changing what device is being used for audio as to eliminate the the source audio that is being heard so that only the second audio is picked up since it matches the video that OBS is displaying. However, when trying to use only the Elgato for audio, it tells me no device is connected and will not capture any gameplay until I switch back to a different audio input device.
All this leads me to believe that many of the issues people have with audio sync is actually an issue with video delay, however I could be completely wrong. If there is a way to eliminate the video delay between the Elgato and OBS, I feel that would solve my audio issues as the delayed video and audio are indeed synced. Any help or direction to a thread i may have overlooked would be appreciated.
Thanks
