So, i have followed all instructions to set up the Elgato Game Capture HD for streaming. As well as for just recording game footage in general. Now, for some reason when i try to stream Wii footage on OBS I get no signal on both my TV screen and on OBS. I honestly have no idea what I did wrong (Since i followed all the instructions carefully) Can someone please help me?

Make sure that you have the Elgato Game Capture HD software installed and have opened it before and it recognizes the device. Also by any chance are you using Wii with component cables on an HD CRT tv? vs a traditional LCD/plasma flatscreen TV.
Also just for good measure post a log as it never hurts.

Yes I have the Elgato Game Capture HD software installed and have it opened before it recognizes the device, and i'm using these composite cables (http://www.gamesystemparts.com/images/wii-composite.jpg) on this Element LCD TV ( http://www.elementelectronics.com/products/elcft194/), however the problem is still occurring. Thanks for the reply.

Elgato support in OBS is 720P only at the moment. SD capture is currently not supported, but is being worked on.

I'm assuming OBS recognizes the Elgato as 720p but when connecting a Wii through component (not composite) it's being output at 480i/p depending on HD CRT or HD Flatscreen. Shouldn't the Wii be sending the same signal to the Elgato?

To answer your question Elgato does not provide proper avcapture drivers for MacOS so there is no way to use it with OBS currently other than capturing Elgato's own software.
