Question / Help Elgato HD issues and C985 questions.

So I recently bought an Elgato HD, not the HD60 just the old version. After reading a bunch of topics here on the forum supposedly the audio desync is "fixed" with the "use buffering" option. However that option seems to fix it at completely random for me. Sometimes it is synced, other times its out of sync but stops drifting. I have to restart the elgato and OBS multiple times before I get a synced stream. It's extremely annoying to deal with...

I stream to Twitch, I have my settings set all to match the guides I have found for the Elgato HD, my PC is more than capable of handling any device I can throw at it, as well as my internet. It's not a CPU issue as my CPU is barely even used by OBS while streaming. Something is out of whack and it's making me crazy.

However that's not even the big issue I am having. If I enabled buffering, set at 0 like all of the guides recommend to do. The stream audio is choppy for minutes before it SOMETIMES stabilizes. After clicking the broadcast button in OBS the audio on my stream is choppy for literally 3-15 minutes at what appears to be completely random. Sometimes the audio will clear up and be in sync, other times it will stay choppy and never clear up at all. Then there are the times where the audio clears up but is completely out of sync, and this is with buffering ON and set to 0.

I have the latest version of OBS 0.64b, and the previous version as well. Both which have the issues I have described.

I am at a loss, frustrated, and am thinking about sending this thing back and getting an C985 instead. I wanted the USB one for ease of use but that seems to be the exact opposite of what I am getting out of it.

So I have to ask, should I just send this demonic device back and get the C985 instead? Or is there some sort of salvation that someone can explain to me that will fix this thing and make it usable. I have been able to stream with it, but it's extremely inconsistent if it will work and sync or not.

Also, if I disable buffering the audio is clear, but drifts in and out of sync constantly. The audio also occasionally cuts out for a split second with buffering off at random, then comes back perfectly in sync only to drift out of sync again seconds later.

All I want is a card/device that I can depend on to work when I want to stream at spur of the moment, not something I have to babysit for an hour to get working every time I want to stream something.

No one knows what my issue with setting buffering to 0 might be? I would like to be able to stream, but I can't figure out why I can't use buffering on a consistent basis. I've even tried reinstalling everything from scratch.

I'm about to send this thing back and just buy a C985, but I can't seem to find any info on compatibility with OBS. I want something that won't have too many if any issues. My main goal is to stream from PS3/4, 720p/30 for long periods without hiccups or major issues.

After testing, I have came to the conclusion it's something within OBS, however I am entirely unsure as to what. In the Elgato software itself, the captured video and audio is fine. OBS however seems to be having audio issues regardless of buffer on or off.

Any help would be appreciated, I know people are using these Elgato HD's without issue, so there must be something I'm overlooking somewhere...
