Hey, I have problems with my Elgato HD 60 sound in OBS. It works fine in the Elgato software. But on OBS I have sound distortion/hang ups/noise.
I am trying to record different consoles, Wii/PS4 for example. Recording a PC game works fine.

in windows playback devicesmake sure all audio devices (elgato and windows) are using 48000 Hz as the audio format including the mic. also, disable mic QPC timestamps in the advanced tab of OBS.

Microphone and speaker are 48000 Hz

my English is not the best.
There is probably an updated elgato driver AND firmware avail. the newest version forces OBS to 1ms buffer, yours doesn't so I would wonder if it is the newest. give that a try. you might have to uninstall the older elgato drivers first.

Sound of the elgato wasnt selected (shown in the logs) so I had Kati do that. It then shows:
19:22:04: audio device: Elgato Game Capture HD,
19:22:04: audio device id {39F50F4C-99E1-464A-B6F9-D605B4FB5918},
19:22:04: audio time offset 0,
19:22:04: Elgato Game Capture: force buffering with 1 msec
Unfortunately not showing any Hz setting. She also removed and readded the device in all scenes. As far as I know its also a new PC, so it should have the latest drivers, but that is worth checking.

I am running out of ideas a bit atm.

Now that its showing the 1ms buffer thing, it should be newest drivers.

have her try to reverse the hdmi cable and see if that helps. sounds like that could do the trick.

So far no luck, the really strange thing is that the Elgato works fine in its own Software and in XSplit as well :/

can you have her change the audio down to 44.1kHz? I'm guessing there's some audio reencoding going on somewhere and maybe that will make it so it doesn't do that. I cant recall but I think in the elgato properties this will need to be done as well

Actually, shes duplicating quite a few frames, can you have her record or stream for 5 minutes or more? both logs so far are really short. I wonder if its the encoder in general. many times encoder lag only happens in the first few seconds, then it goes away...
