Bug Report Elgato Game Capture Freezes in OBS

So I just started streaming again and I use an Elgato Game Capture HD and I use OBS to add my Webcam and overlay. Every-time I stream using OBS at the max bitrate for Twitch (3500 kbps) and my stream lags and game capture through OBS freezes and I have to restart OBS. I did a test stream using the native EGC software at the same bitrate and it did not freeze at all. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, is there a fix for this issue?

Everything seems to be in order in the log file. Have you tried the different encoders to see if that's effecting things at all?

Yes, only elgato freezes. Also I have not had this problem in the past at all. This problem occurred all within the course of a day.

If it's only happening just now, then have you perhaps tried restarting the computer? Might not be the best suggestion, but I'm unfortunately not entirely sure.

It's been happening for a while now. I checked OBS while I tried recording and it says "Warning: taking too long to encode" so I don't know if it's a hardware issue. I have been using OBS for months now and haven't had this problem occur before.

If you get that message then that means the encoder is struggling (usually it would be due to lack of CPU usage but you're using nvenc so I don't know why it's saying that)

So it must be a hardware issue, I don't know why though. It's been working fine all up to this point.

EDIT: I believe I fixed the problem. CPU/GPU were being throttled due to overheating.
