Question / Help Elgato capture not filling the screen on stream or preview

Hi all,

I went through the recommended setup for OBS 32 using the Elgato Game Capture HD. The device works as it should using the Elgato software, but the display is scaled down in either the preview or the actual screen no matter what I have tried. My source is a video camera, and I have tried both 1080i and 720P modes.

Global and settings? It's just in Video settings in OBS.

If that's already set to 1280x720, then just select the source and press Ctrl + F.

Nope, not it. I do appreciate the reply though. I finally figured it out, but it was a little less than intuitive. Clicked "edit scene" and I was able to drag the corners of the image to fill the frame. I guess this is for a pip inset? Not sure why full frame was not the default, but that fixed it.

This is where the base resolution setting is, in Settings > Video:

Also, selecting the source and pressing Ctrl + F would fit the Elgato window to your screen. But if your base resolution is not 720p, then your quality will be reduced if you're upscaling.

Ah, I misunderstood. I had tried Ctrl-f in the settings window. It indeed was the easy way to get full screen when your viewing the source.

Thanks again.
