any one have any idea who created the OBS elgato configuration window for the elgato game capture device... i noticed it has a very limited amount of options to choose from when configuring the device... is there any way to add the Native Audio ducking feature on the elgato device into the config so that whenever it senses the mic input, it ducks the audio... now obviously we can still set the mic input in obs as the same mic that the config will be using to determine when to duck the audio... is this possibe... or is Elgato systems the one limiting the config options withing OBS?

i'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. You mean the DirectShow-device config dialog, or the generic DirectShow plugin config dialog from the obs dshow plugin?

when you have an elgato capture card... if you right click it and click properties then click configure... the elgato config window that pops up is what I'm talking about.... can we get audio ducking added? its a native feature of the elgato software... i'm assuming it could be added.

That dialog does not come from OBS, it's the DirectShow config dialog coming from the Elgato driver.

...or you could enable the same feature in Windows and have the same result. I'm pretty sure that feature is for when you are using the Elgato recording software.

ok so who configs the directwshow config dialog... does that come straight from the elgato company or did someone code it?

It's whatever pops up when OBS calls the config function of that DirectShow device. It comes directly from the DirectShow driver of that device.

so that driver is provided by the company right... so to get audio ducking options all we have to do is ask elgato to add that in the directshow driver config file... hmm time to call my contact at elgato... lol

yeah i know the audio ducking is only available when using the elgato software, but i was wondering if there was a way to get that feature into OBS since OBS has yet to implement a ducking feature.

As stated before... using the windows ducking feature that puts all sounds to either 80 or 50% when a communication device is recognized as active doesn't work right in obs. I'm guessing it's because the real time input of the mic signal that talks to the ducking WILL NEVER match the point in time that you want the duck in the gameplay since the gameplay is registered 2 secs late... i've tried various audio buffers with the mic, global audio, device audio, and could not find a mix... it was always off by like a second after all the math.
