Echo only in OBS

Hi all.

Have just recently noticed a soft echo on my OBS recordings. I've reset everything to default and it's still echoing.

When I switch to using Windows 10's Voice Recorder or Audacity, there is no echo. That is how I know this is an OBS issue.

I've set monitoring to off on all audio devices in Advanced Audio Properties and the problem persists.

I've been tearing my hair out for hours and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Audacity audio and the OBS recorded mkv file shared from my Google Drive folder.

I don't hear an echo in either of those recordings. The OBS one has more electronic white noise, so you might look into that, but no echo that I can tell.

The analyzer suggests you might be overloaded. What actually *is* your system load while you're running?

Use Windows' report, not OBS's. OBS only knows about itself, so it'll report low.

The system load is pretty low when recording.

I've resinstalled OBS and the "Max Audio Buffering" error disappeared.

However, the echo is still there.

Hey Aaron!

Found this other thread of someone else mentioning an echo.

Tried using Media Player, MPC-BE, and VLC instead of PotPlayer and the echo disappears. I sounded fine!

Changed audio output from Stereo to Mono in PotPlayer and the echo disappears too!

I still don't know why *that* would make a difference. Maybe you both found the same bug? Occasionally, OBS treats stereo as dual mono and delays one channel??? I have no idea how that would even happen!
