Question / Help Dual PC - Medium Preset - Is it even worth it?

Hello guys.

I have a Dual-PC streaming setup, and here is what matters from the streaming PC:

4790k @ Stock speed (4.4 Turbo)
8 GB RAM
GTX 760 (no video card makes the preview lag and/or freeze)

I am currently streaming 720p@60fps with the Fast preset. Pushing it to Medium will make FPS drops reaaaaaaally constant, it basically drops to 15-20 a lot.


TL;DR: Can the 4790k do Medium at all? And is it worth it?

dedicated it should be able to. post your log file. what capture card are you using to bring it to your stream PC?

Depends on the complexity of the video you're encoding. A mostly static frame of some card game will probably work. A fast-motion FPS or MMO might not.

And its probably not "worth it", though that is massively subjective. You already have the hardware, so just test it out and let us know if it'll do Medium. No one is going to be able to tell you definitely better than you can find out for yourself.
