Question / Help DS Emulator Sizing?

Hi I'm very new to this and I'm currently having issues with resizing Open Broadcaster Studio the latest version and the DS emulator DeSmuME. I've gotten the game to show up on Game Capture no problem I've tried to resize the window but no matter what I do the Black Borders are still being shown when streaming. It's really distracting I stream through Facebook Live with a buddy of mine and since going actual full screen gives really bad quality I thought the least I could do is full screen it for the viewers by resizing OBS to show no borders but keeping the actual Resolution I can see but I've been told they still see big black borders on the left and right side even tho OBS shows no Black borders can someone please help with this?

Well show us an example(screenshots or video)... so we can see exactly how its supposed to be seen(what you see) and then show what the users are seeing. I'd go with something very simple as Window Capture so that well since this is DS(2 screens), you have full control of using 2 window captures and resize/move/align the *captured windows however you want for the stream/recording.

Example:

Post your recent log(last time you streamed) too so that we can see the settings you are using: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/please-post-a-log-with-your-issue-heres-how.23074/

thanks for the reply. Again sorry I'm pretty new at this stuff here are two pictures of the emulator what OBS sees and then what the people watching see
what OBS sees.png
what others see.png

Well its the layout setup and resolution the issue of the black borders they see, 800x600 is not a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution(what common phones/computers use), so when it goes to Facebook/Youtube/Twitch etc... using something different that is not 16:9 aspect ratio it will have black borders left/right(or top/bottom depending on layout) sides of screen.

So use 720p(1280x720) in OBS then and go with 2 Window Captures(1 for each screen) like I suggested and get creative with the layout - DS is impossible to fill in entirely the 16:9 aspect ratio with both screens unless its stretched out which you know will look quite awful. So after you are done arranging the screens then either leave the remaining unused space black or add some art.

Example of having different setup of the screens:
https://youtu.be/QIEEa-1rKTo?t=715 - basically what you are doing right now(black borders on the sides)
https://youtu.be/FTXBA6-JugM?t=6079 - main screen only but stretched
https://youtu.be/s1N1ofxrTbo?t=5295 - creative: top left small bottom screen, right big main screen
https://youtu.be/LUmSgFoBC94?t=181 - creative: left big main screen, right centered small bottom screen

Hopefully you get the idea with those examples and get creative to make good use of both screens. if you Iwant a basic art layout for 720p, well I was bored so I made it for you... here you go(empty areas for each screen) - add the image in OBS: https://s10.postimg.org/xfvkkydxl/chibi-robo-blink.png

Window capture and Emulator has Black Border forced into red square.png
oh wow thanks for the overlay picture it looks really neat that will be very useful my only issue is trying to separate and resize the screens accordingly when doing window capture I'm not entirely sure how I can do that I can't find an option to separate the windows to actually fit them in the squares. instead I have this issue where if I do window capture it get's both screens and an absurd amount of a black border is being selected with it some reason. If I try to move the red square it resizes the whole square and shrinks the emulator but still has the black border with it...?

You have to crop the source, on the keyboard hold ALT key and with mouse left-click drag the red borders to crop it. Then do another window capture for the other one - repeating the same cropping

Alternative way of cropping, right-click the Source and in Filters you will see in + Crop - so do the same on both.

Thank you so much for all the help sendblink23 everything seems to be working as it's supposed to now I had been trying to solve this on my own for the past three days and now it's set I'm honestly supprised how easy that was since I didn't know the Alt Key could even do that with this program

;) nice you figured it out, good luck on your next stream over at FB

And now something quite funny since you were playing Chibi Robo... Nintendo just tweeted something with him: https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/951144137352396800
