Question / Help Downscaling Question (for R1CH)

Hello people,

So I've just read one of R1CH's stream quality guide. Something I noticed was that he said that picking a 2:1 resolution would result in the best possible quality.

So my question is:

Will my stream look better if I fill in a custom native resolution of 2560x1440 and do a 2x downscale (1280x720p) instead of doing a 1,5 downscale to 720p from my native monitor resolution (1920x1080)?

Probably not, you would have to "upscale" the input image to 2560x1440 which would degrade quality, and then downscale which degrades quality a bit too. Instead of just downscaling.
