Question / Help Does OBS support multiple CPUs?

I'm considering purchasing a server to use as my streaming PC which will have two CPUs. I have looked online for an answer as to whether or not OBS will be able to utilize two CPUs, but have not found a clear answer. Does anybody happen to know the answer to this question?

Yes, OBS and x264 will benefit from multiple cores / CPUs.

hope you going for dem xeons and not opterons :) but to be honest its overkill if you just purchase the system for streaming.

Btw comparing same priced Opterons vs Xeons, Opterons are better when it comes to encoding and rendering. AMD is great for x264 encoding.

Yes it should if you make sure to add it to custom x264 command line.

Oh okay so obs utilizes all threads automatically if multithreading is set to on (default)?

Woah. Just wow. (Btw is this number already multiplied by 1.5 or not?)

x264 currently has an internal limit on the number of threads set at 128, realistically you should never set it this high.

x264's default behaviour is to use a sufficient number of threads (and cores).
