Okay, so this is quite an obscure problem which I've been trying to figure out for a while now. I've recently upgraded my streaming setup to include a mixer so that I can manually set the levels and equalization of my microphone, the game volume, Skype calls and the music that's playing. My microphone, game volumes and Skype calls are easy to set up: I just plug in my microphone, my laptop for Skype calls and my PC for game sounds, however the music is proving to be a challenge to get working: it's easy enough for me to plug my phone or a dedicated MP3 player into the mixer, the stream would hear the music fine, but then I'd have no way to display/credit the song which is playing (I currently use Snip, http://goo.gl/0Q3TdW, to display the metadata from the MP3 file which is playing in iTunes).
So, and I know this sounds extremely unnecessary and picky, but is there any way for me to work around this problem? So far all the fixes I've tried have reached dead ends: there is no way to send MP3 metadata from an MP3 player to my PC, I can't use a second audio output jack on my PC specifically for audio from iTunes because iTunes doesn't have an option to select an audio output and I can't (inexpensively) use iTunes as a remote to play music form another device such as an iPod.
Once again, I know that this is an extremely obscure and picky problem, I was just wondering if anyone knew a fix. I can of course, if no one knows a fix, just go back to manually setting levels and pausing and playing music from within iTunes ;)
