Question / Help Displaying a weird black border, issue with scenes/game

Hello,

I recently started using OBS to stream and although I really like the software, I'm encountering a couple issues. I've tried capturing a game source, but nothing appears when I choose this option and select my game. Therefore I've been using window capture to capture the game window. Unfortunately if I set it to capture the entire window it captures the in game screen, but will not capture the lobby. Instead it shows the lobby and a weird black background the picks up only my mouse cursor and replicates it instead of showing the image I have set to be in the background of the lobby. I ran my log file through the analyzer and came up with no issues but I will post it below.

If someone could help me either fix the black background issue or get game capture up and running so I dont have this issue, that would be swell.

Thank you for the log file. What game? Have you tried game capture's hotkey feature?

Trying to play Dawngate. I'm also experiencing some skipped frames every now and then. No I haven't tried the hotkey feature yet.

Is Dawngate like LoL in the sense that the lobby is a separate sort of window from the main game? If so then you should try giving the Simple Scene Switcher a shot. In one scene, use Window capture on the lobby, and in another scene, use Game capture on the game. And when you swap between then, the scene will automatically change accordingly.

mhm i've also been streaming dawngate but im still using monitor capture for everything besides games so i just use game capture for dawngate when ingame and since the launcher got another window name the scene switcher is perfect for this setup but im sure the launcher would work with window capture

Messed around with window capture and used a manual hotkey to swtich between the two. The problem wasn't able to be solved with the plugin, but adjusting the look of each window capture to my liking in settings and manual switching when I get in game worked fine.

Thanks all.

The hotkey doesn't let you choose a game, the hotkey feature causes it to capture the topmost window when you press the hotkey
