Question / Help Disconnect / Reconnect every so many minutes

So i have this issue since a few patches ago that when i stream it works fine for a hour.

Then after it Disconnects reconnects me every so many minutes.

If the stream is black it is stable at 2800 - 2850 but as soon i stream a game it goes over 3000 and drops down to 2600 and it goes up and down like that untill I see the bitrate drop to 0 before it Dc's.

I tried checking on this forum there was this troubleshooting guide (https://obsproject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8870) i walked through step by step but the issue still persists.

I have game capture in settings selected.

My bitrate was 3000 i lowered it to 2500.

My Up is 9Mbit so i am using 1/3 of my Up to stream.

If someone has any idea how to fix this, its getting very frustrating to dc and rc every so many minutes.

Well yeah that would if i had not done that already like explained in my OP.

@Pepey People rarely follow all of the steps, or perform them correctly, or read the giant bold-red header at the top of that thread. Do you experience the same issue with a different stream provider like hitbox?

Yup same with Hitbox as soon as i start to stream after a little while the bitrate gradually goes down till i dc then it reconnects. same as with twitch.

Have done a few speed test all resulting in positive results. got 87.53 down and 8.63 up.

Have done the test in which you can see if you ISP is lowering your bandwidth but that doesnt happen neither. ( had to use some program for it cant remember the name)

If it happens with multiple services and you've done all of the other steps in that guide then it's time to call your ISP.

I had a similar problem, i literally just downloaded a new ethernet adapter driver and that fixed it. I would also reccomend not streaming above 1800-2000 bitrate, as your viewers will buffer constantly with any higher bit rate.

My ISP is not the problem here since the service is stable with anything else but OBS if i use FFsplit i have no problem with streaming or dcing. But i dont wanna use FFsplit becaues i dont like hte layout of it and all the exctra crap i have to download to make it work a little decent like OBS. (setting wise and it does not have GAME CAPTURE mode)

@Sapiens What should i ask my ISP since you mentioned i should call them up at least tell me what i should say to them.
Since the service works fine and have a stable cable connection.

Frustrating as fuck ..... wanna stream !!!

Also, do the usual mundane crap of going through your services list and make sure there isnt anything hiding there eating your bandwidth. I had "teamviewer" running in my services for a while and it was nasty

Just wondering if this was solved or if anyone had anymore ideas. I know it is not my ISP because I still have access to the internet and I always type in chat that I have dropped to my viewers. Ill try another service tomorrow, and check the services list to see if anything is eating bandwidth, but I never seem to have bandwidth issues.

Whether you have access to the internet or not is irrelevant. Streaming requires a single TCP connection to stay open for a long duration, possibly into the hours. Very few other internet applications require this, or can handle a disconnection without you noticing. It's either your router or your ISP if you've tried everything else.

Ahh, I see.

I haven't tried anything yet, but I was just wondering if it could possibly be the version of OBS we are using. I didnt have these issues until I updated OBS, but I feel like it's coincidental.

Hi. I do not want to flood, creating the same topics.
I have exactly the same problem. When using the preview, the data exchange is normally 2000kb / s, but when I run the broadcast, the figure is always zero.
I tried to change the server, not helps.

This isnt the same as our topic, as we can stream for a while, but suddenly it drops to 0. There are a bunch of threads with your issue.

And I streamed with OBS yesterday and it was fine the entire time, so it must be my ISP. Thank you guys for the help

So tried to stream with Shadowplay and it remains stable for a long periode of time ( till i shut it down that is). Totally forgot about that one. but still you cant do shit with it but stream so its a bit barren on options.

really would like to see a solution =(
