Question / Help DirectX 10 Support

Hi there,

When trying to start recording I get the well known "couldn't initialize DirectX10 on Graphics card", but I am pretty sure my Laptop does support DirectX10.

Dxdiag shows DX 11 as installed and DX 10 as highest I can run which should be fine.
Also I googled my Laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook S 710) and all websites state it's DirectX 10 compatible.
The drivers are up to date as well.

Any other thing that could cause this error?

Just because you have the DX10 software installed doesn't mean your GPU actually supports it. In this case, it does not, so you cannot use OBS.
 
I thought thats what dxdiag is for, to show which version my laptop actually supports and it says DDI 10.
As I said, I did research on if I can run DX10 and everything says yes except OBS.

But thanks anyway
 
Okay so it's just partially supported. Well there is nothing I can do about it then expect finally getting a new PC.
